Out of Home Care

We work in collaboration with other agencies providing accommodation and supporting families with young people living with complex and challenging behaviours.

Our staff are trained to:

• Manage and de-escalate behaviours of concern. We achieve this by engaging all stakeholders’ particularly the participant and family members in identifying early warning signs; how to respond to the early warning signs and risk mitigation strategies.

• We also engage the services of behaviour consultants and other specialist services to help formulate behaviour and risk management strategies for our participants.

• We implement the Safewards principles to minimise conflict and enhance the therapeutic alliance with our participants.

• Our homes also have modifications to the structure and furniture to minimise risk of harm to our staff and participants.

• We are responsive when incidents happen to learn quickly and mitigate the risks to ensure we minimise reoccurrence.

• As service we are reflective and are constantly learning from our experiences.
